Really great piece! There were a few standout points for me, but I really took to this: "In a society where whiteness is treated like a gold standard, proximity to whiteness becomes a sort of silver standard, one that some non-Black minorities aspire to." I was surprised that you didn't include the disparities compared to continental Africans and African-Caribbean people who are more recently arrived. Would love to get your thoughts on this.
